V\u00a0po\u010diato\u010dnom obdob\u00ed, v\u00a0obdob\u00ed osvietenstva, zdru\u017eovali po\u010detn\u00e9 spolo\u010dnosti najm\u00e4 vedcov a\u00a0vzdelancov a\u00a0vytv\u00e1rali tak pov\u00e4\u010d\u0161ine uzavret\u00e9 elit\u00e1rske spolo\u010dnosti. Postupom \u010dasu a\u00a0s\u00a0vyostruj\u00facim sa z\u00e1pasom za n\u00e1rodn\u00e9 pr\u00e1va mo\u017eno bada\u0165 v\u00fdrazn\u00fa snahu n\u00e1rodn\u00fdch budite\u013eov organizova\u0165 a\u00a0aktivizova\u0165 Slov\u00e1kov v spolkoch a\u00a0organiz\u00e1ci\u00e1ch s\u00a0region\u00e1lnou \u010di celon\u00e1rodnou p\u00f4sobnos\u0165ou, ktor\u00e9 si kl\u00e1dli za cie\u013e \u0161\u00edri\u0165 osvetu a\u00a0rozv\u00edja\u0165 n\u00e1rodn\u00e9 povedomie. Spolky a\u00a0spolkov\u00fd \u017eivot boli v\u00e4\u010d\u0161inou z\u00e1le\u017eitos\u0165ou mu\u017eov, ktor\u00ed sa prirodzene anga\u017eovali aj mimo svojho be\u017en\u00e9ho priestoru \u010dasto obmedzen\u00e9ho pr\u00e1ve na rodinu, cirkev \u010di povolanie.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">V\u00a0sledovanom obdob\u00ed vzniklo pomerne ve\u013ek\u00e9 mno\u017estvo spolkov a\u00a0organiz\u00e1ci\u00ed, ktor\u00fdm sa darilo viac \u010di menej \u00faspe\u0161ne tieto ciele nap\u013a\u0148a\u0165. Je d\u00f4le\u017eit\u00e9 spomen\u00fa\u0165, \u017ee spolkov\u00e1 \u010dinnos\u0165 sa net\u00fdkala iba Slov\u00e1kov na \u00fazem\u00ed Slovenska, ale presahovala aj za jeho hranice.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">V\u00a0z\u00e1vislosti od charakteru \u010di zamerania m\u00f4\u017eeme rozli\u0161ova\u0165 celon\u00e1rodn\u00e9, region\u00e1lne, cirkevn\u00e9, \u0161tudentsk\u00e9, \u0161portov\u00e9, osvetov\u00e9 a\u00a0\u010fal\u0161ie spolky. K\u00a0najv\u00fdznamnej\u0161\u00edm patrili napr\u00edklad <em>Slovensk\u00e9 u\u010den\u00e9 tovari\u0161stvo<\/em> (1792 \u2013 1796), <em>U\u010den\u00e1 spolo\u010dnos\u0165 malohontsk\u00e1<\/em> (1808 \u2013 1841), <em>U\u010den\u00e1 spolo\u010dnos\u0165 bansk\u00e9ho okolia<\/em> (1810 \u2013 1844), <em>Spolo\u010dnos\u0165 \u010deskoslovansk\u00e1<\/em> (1829 \u2013 1837), <em>Spolok milovn\u00edkov re\u010di a\u00a0literat\u00fary slovenskej<\/em> (1834 \u2013 1850), <em>Vz\u00e1jomnos\u0165<\/em> (1837 \u2013 1840), <em>Spolky striezlivosti<\/em> (1840 \u2013 1874), <em>Tatr\u00edn<\/em> (1844 \u2013 1848), <em>\u017divena<\/em> (1869 \u2013 1955; obnoven\u00e1 1990), <em>Spolok sv. Vojtecha<\/em> (1870 \u2013 1949; obnoven\u00fd 1990), <em>Muze\u00e1lna slovensk\u00e1 spolo\u010dnos\u0165<\/em> (1895 \u2013 1960; obnoven\u00e1 1989) a\u00a0in\u00e9. Kult\u00farnou ustanoviz\u0148ou a\u00a0hlavnou reprezentantkou Slov\u00e1kov v\u00a0druhej polovici 19. storo\u010dia sa stala <em>Matica slovensk\u00e1<\/em> (1863 \u2013 1875; obnoven\u00e1 1919).
