Do At\u00e9n pri\u0161iel okolo roku 306 p.\u00a0n.\u00a0l. aj so svojimi priaznivcami. Spolo\u010dne odk\u00fapili men\u0161iu parcelu hne\u010f za mestsk\u00fdmi hradbami, a\u00a0vybudovali na nej tzv. Z\u00e1hradu (<em>K\u00e9pos<\/em>), preto ich aj prez\u00fdvali \u201efilozofmi zo z\u00e1hrady\u201c. Spolo\u010denstvo epikurejcov bolo otvoren\u00e9 v\u0161etk\u00fdm soci\u00e1lnym vrstv\u00e1m, nech\u00fdbali v\u00a0\u0148om ani \u017eeny, deti, het\u00e9ry a\u00a0otroci. Mnoh\u00ed ich zneva\u017eovali a\u00a0ozna\u010dovali za nehanebn\u00edkov, no oni sami vo svojej komunite \u017eili prost\u00fdm \u017eivotom. Vyh\u00fdbali sa politike a \u2013 okrem svojho majstra \u2013 mali v\u00a0najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161ej \u00facte puto priate\u013estva.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Epik\u00faros patril medzi najplodnej\u0161\u00edch autorov staroveku. Vraj po \u0148om zostalo okolo 300 zvitkov (D. L. 10, 26). Dnes m\u00e1me zachovan\u00e9 len tri jeho listy a\u00a0tzv. <em>Hlavn\u00e9 \u010dl\u00e1nky u\u010denia<\/em> \u2013 kr\u00e1tku zbierku jeho n\u00e1u\u010dn\u00fdch sentenci\u00ed. V\u00a0jednom zo zachovan\u00fdch listov \u2013 tzv. <em>Liste Menoikeiovi<\/em> (D. L. 10, 122 \u2013 138) \u2013 Epik\u00faros vyklad\u00e1 svoje etick\u00e9 postoje. Pr\u00e1ve o\u0148 oprieme hlavn\u00fa \u010das\u0165 v\u00fdkladu.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 List za\u010d\u00edna slovami: \u201eAni za mladi sa nem\u00e1 odklada\u0165 so \u0161t\u00fadiom filozofie, ani v\u00a0starobe sa nem\u00e1 ochabova\u0165 v\u00a0jej pestovan\u00ed. Lebo nikto nie je ani nedozret\u00fd, ani prezret\u00fd na to, aby sa staral o\u00a0zdravie svojej du\u0161e\u201c (D. L. 10, 122, 1 \u2013 3). O\u00a0p\u00e1r riadkov \u010falej dod\u00e1va, \u017ee nen\u00e1js\u0165 si \u010das na filozofiu je rovnak\u00e9, ako nen\u00e1js\u0165 si \u010das na bla\u017eenos\u0165 (<em>eudaimonia<\/em>) (D. L. 10, 122,5). Epik\u00faros teda hne\u010f na za\u010diatku vyty\u010duje praktick\u00fa, terapeutick\u00fa l\u00edniu svojho myslenia: podobne ako je \u00falohou lek\u00e1rstva starostlivos\u0165 o\u00a0zdravie tela, \u00falohou filozofie je starostlivos\u0165 o\u00a0zdravie du\u0161e. Filozofiu Epik\u00faros nech\u00e1pe \u201eakademicky\u201c ako teoretick\u00fa \u0161pekul\u00e1ciu ur\u010den\u00fa \u00fazkemu okruhu expertov. Sna\u017e\u00ed sa ju poda\u0165 tak, aby bola pr\u00edstupn\u00e1 aj \u201eoby\u010dajn\u00fdm \u013eu\u010fom\u201c (por. Cicero, <em>Tusc<\/em>. <em>disp<\/em>. 4, 3). Ch\u00e1pe ju prakticky \u2013 ako prostriedok, ktor\u00fd n\u00e1m umo\u017en\u00ed stara\u0165 sa o\u00a0svoju du\u0161u sp\u00f4sobom, ktor\u00fd n\u00e1s dovedie k\u00a0bla\u017een\u00e9mu \u017eivotu.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d2c4c2f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d2c4c2f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">\u0160tyri druhy strachu a ich prekonanie<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b1f571 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3b1f571\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161ou prek\u00e1\u017ekou bla\u017een\u00e9ho \u017eivota je pod\u013ea Epik\u00fara strach. \u0160tyrmi hlavn\u00fdmi strachmi s\u00fa strach z&nbsp;bohov, zo smrti, z&nbsp;utrpenia a z&nbsp;nedosiahnute\u013enosti \u0161\u0165astia. Prv\u00e9 dva lie\u010di epikurejsk\u00e1 fyzika, druh\u00e9 dva etika. V\u0161etky \u0161tyri postupne presk\u00famame. V&nbsp;tejto kapitole sa s\u00fastred\u00edme na prv\u00e9 dva.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; V&nbsp;<em>Liste Menoikeiovi<\/em> (D. L. 10,123 \u2013 124) Epik\u00faros hovor\u00ed, \u017ee \u013eudov\u00e1 predstava o&nbsp;bohoch vych\u00e1dza z&nbsp;klamliv\u00fdch domnienok, lebo \u013eudia bohom pripisuj\u00fa vlastnosti, ktor\u00e9 pozoruj\u00fa sami u&nbsp;seba. No jedin\u00e9 \u010do pod\u013ea Epik\u00fara m\u00f4\u017eeme o&nbsp;bohoch naozaj pravdivo poveda\u0165 je, \u017ee s\u00fa to bytosti nesmrte\u013en\u00e9 a&nbsp;bla\u017een\u00e9. V&nbsp;<em>Liste H\u00e9rodotovi<\/em> (D. L. 10, 77), venovanom v\u00fdkladu <em>fysis<\/em> (ktorej s\u00fa\u010das\u0165ou s\u00fa aj bohovia), Epik\u00faros vysvet\u013euje, \u017ee prejavy hnevu a&nbsp;priazne vznikaj\u00fa zo slabosti, strachu a&nbsp;z\u00e1vislosti na okol\u00ed a&nbsp;s\u00fa v&nbsp;pr\u00edkrom rozpore s&nbsp;bla\u017eenos\u0165ou. Bohovia, ktor\u00ed by \u013eud\u00ed odme\u0148ovali alebo trestali, by podliehali t\u00fdmto stavom a&nbsp;nemohli by by\u0165 bla\u017een\u00ed. Ke\u010f\u017ee bla\u017een\u00ed nutne s\u00fa, o&nbsp;svet sa nestaraj\u00fa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Epik\u00faros nie je ateista v&nbsp;novovekom slova zmysle, je dokonca presved\u010den\u00fd, \u017ee na\u0161e poznanie existencie bohov \u201espo\u010d\u00edva na samozrejmej istote\u201c (D. L. 10, 123). Do \u013eudsk\u00fdch z\u00e1le\u017eitost\u00ed v\u0161ak nijako nezasahuj\u00fa, ani nemaj\u00fa \u017eiaden kontakt so svetom. Z&nbsp;tohto d\u00f4vodu tie\u017e epikurejci odmietaj\u00fa mo\u017enos\u0165 ve\u0161tenia, ktor\u00e9 bolo u&nbsp;Gr\u00e9kov zalo\u017een\u00e9 hlavne na pozorovan\u00ed a&nbsp;v\u00fdklade bo\u017esk\u00fdch znamen\u00ed v&nbsp;pr\u00edrode (napr. letu vt\u00e1kov, \u010di tvare vn\u00fatorn\u00fdch org\u00e1nov obetovan\u00fdch zvierat). Epikurejsk\u00ed bohovia s\u00fa mimo sveta. \u013dudia sa nem\u00f4\u017eu spolieha\u0165 na ich priaze\u0148, no z\u00e1rove\u0148 sa nemusia ob\u00e1va\u0165 ani ich nepriazne. \u010clovek nijako nepodlieha sf\u00e9re ich vplyvu. Z\u00e1vis\u00ed len od neho samotn\u00e9ho, ak\u00fdm sp\u00f4sobom nalo\u017e\u00ed so svoj\u00edm \u017eivotom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Druh\u00fd strach \u2013 strach zo smrti \u2013 Epik\u00faros rie\u0161i tie\u017e prostredn\u00edctvom svojej fyziky a&nbsp;kanoniky (t. j. \u201ete\u00f3rie poznania\u201c). Epikurejci s\u00fa z\u00e1stancami d\u00e9mokritovsk\u00e9ho atomizmu. V\u0161etko vo svete je pod\u013ea nich zlo\u017een\u00e9 z&nbsp;dvoch z\u00e1kladn\u00fdch komponentov \u2013 at\u00f3mov a&nbsp;pr\u00e1zdna. Z&nbsp;nich je zlo\u017een\u00e1 aj \u013eudsk\u00e1 du\u0161a, ktorej z\u00e1kladnou vlastnos\u0165ou je vn\u00edmanie. Vn\u00edmame v\u010faka tomu, \u017ee z&nbsp;vec\u00ed sa v&nbsp;neust\u00e1lom r\u00fdchlom slede uvo\u013e\u0148uj\u00fa atom\u00e1rne obr\u00e1zky (<em>eidola<\/em>), ktor\u00e9 nar\u00e1\u017eaj\u00fa na na\u0161e zmyslov\u00e9 org\u00e1ny. V&nbsp;na\u0161ej pam\u00e4ti sa vnemy ukladaj\u00fa ako predstavy, a&nbsp;du\u0161a si z&nbsp;nich vytv\u00e1ra domnienku. Ak je t\u00e1to domnienka potvrden\u00e1 \u010fal\u0161\u00edm zmyslov\u00fdm vn\u00edman\u00edm (alebo ak ju \u010fal\u0161ie zmyslov\u00e9 vn\u00edmanie nevyvracia), vznik\u00e1 z&nbsp;nej pravdiv\u00e1 predstava. \u010clovek pre svoju orient\u00e1ciu vo svete ni\u010d viac nepotrebuje. Ak pou\u017e\u00edva svoje zmysly adekv\u00e1tne, dok\u00e1\u017ee pod\u013ea epikurejcov zisti\u0165, \u201eako sa veci maj\u00fa\u201c a&nbsp;pod\u013ea toho sa aj spr\u00e1vne rozhodova\u0165.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Zmyslov\u00e9 vn\u00edmanie je okrem n\u00e1\u0161ho myslenia d\u00f4le\u017eit\u00e9 aj pre poci\u0165ovanie strasti alebo slasti. Smrti sa pod\u013ea Epik\u00fara boj\u00edme predov\u0161etk\u00fdm preto, lebo sa boj\u00edme bolesti. Smr\u0165 v\u0161ak znamen\u00e1 \u201ekoniec zmyslov\u00e9ho vn\u00edmania\u201c (D. L., 10, 124). Po smrti doch\u00e1dza k&nbsp;rozpadu zhluku at\u00f3mov du\u0161e rovnako, ako sa rozpadaj\u00fa zhluky at\u00f3mov tela. Ke\u010f\u017ee du\u0161a po smrti nie je schopn\u00e1 vn\u00edmania, nie je schopn\u00e1 poci\u0165ova\u0165 ani boles\u0165, ani slas\u0165. \u201eA&nbsp;tak najhroznej\u0161ie zo ziel, smr\u0165, sa n\u00e1s net\u00fdka, preto\u017ee ke\u010f sme tu my, nie je tu e\u0161te smr\u0165, a&nbsp;ke\u010f je tu u\u017e smr\u0165, nie sme tu u\u017e my\u201c (D. L. 10, 125). Zbavenie sa strachu zo smrti v\u0161ak nem\u00e1 len svoj \u201ekognit\u00edvno-emocion\u00e1lny\u201c aspekt. Epik\u00faros k&nbsp;nemu prid\u00e1va aj jeden praktick\u00fd \u2013 etick\u00fd d\u00f4sledok: \u201epravdiv\u00e9 poznanie, \u017ee smr\u0165 sa n\u00e1s net\u00fdka, n\u00e1m dovo\u013euje u\u017e\u00edva\u0165 smrte\u013en\u00fd \u017eivot, neprid\u00e1vaj\u00fac k&nbsp;nemu nekone\u010dn\u00fd \u010das, ale naopak, zbavuje n\u00e1s t\u00fa\u017eby po nesmrte\u013enosti\u201c (D. L. 10, 124,8 \u2013 125,1). M\u00fadry \u010dlovek sa preto \u017eivota ani nezrieka, ani sa ho neboj\u00ed (D. L. 10, 126). Odmietnut\u00edm strachu z&nbsp;bohov, strachu z&nbsp;ne\u017eitia a&nbsp;prijat\u00edm radik\u00e1lnej smrte\u013enosti \u013eudskej bytosti Epik\u00faros upriamuje pozornos\u0165 na aktu\u00e1lne pre\u017e\u00edvan\u00fd \u017eivot. Z\u00e1rove\u0148 \u010dloveka vyz\u00fdva k&nbsp;aktivite a&nbsp;plnej zodpovednosti za to, ako so svoj\u00edm \u017eivotom nalo\u017e\u00ed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-89327f0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"89327f0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Rozko\u0161 a stras\u0165<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0f96b13 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0f96b13\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 K\u013e\u00fa\u010dov\u00fdmi term\u00ednmi pre epikurejsk\u00fa etiku je dvojica pocitov rozko\u0161e a strasti (rozko\u0161 = slas\u0165 \u2013 <em>h\u00e9don\u00e9<\/em> \u2013 \u1f21\u03b4\u03bf\u03bd\u03ae; stras\u0165 = boles\u0165 \u2013 <em>alg\u00e9d\u00f3n<\/em>, <em>lyp\u00e9<\/em> \u2013 \u1f00\u03bb\u03b3\u03b7\u03b4\u03ce\u03bd, \u03bb\u03cd\u03c0\u03b7). Pod\u013ea epikurejcov je rozko\u0161 \u201eza\u010diatkom a\u00a0cie\u013eom bla\u017een\u00e9ho \u017eivota. Spoznali sme ju ako prv\u00e9 a\u00a0vroden\u00e9 dobro, od nej vych\u00e1dzame pri ka\u017edej vo\u013ebe a\u00a0odmietan\u00ed a k\u00a0nej sa obraciame, s\u00fadiac o\u00a0ka\u017edom dobre pod\u013ea tohto citu\u201c (D. L. 10, 128,11 \u2013 129,3). Rozko\u0161 je vroden\u00e1 v\u0161etk\u00fdm \u017eiv\u00fdm bytostiam, ktor\u00e9 vn\u00edmaj\u00fa. Sl\u00fa\u017ei im ako z\u00e1kladn\u00fd cit (<em>pathos<\/em>), pod\u013ea ktor\u00e9ho sa orientuj\u00fa vo svete.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Napriek tomu, \u017ee rozko\u0161 je v\u017edy dobrom, nevol\u00edme si ka\u017ed\u00fa rozko\u0161 a\u00a0neodmietame ka\u017ed\u00fa boles\u0165. Ke\u010f\u017ee \u013eudsk\u00e9 bytosti s\u00fa schopn\u00e9 uv\u00e1\u017ei\u0165 si svoju vo\u013ebu a\u00a0odmietnutie, \u010dasto d\u00e1vaj\u00fa prednos\u0165 bolesti pred rozko\u0161ou (D. L. 10, 128 \u2013 130). Preto si napr\u00edklad dobrovo\u013ene vol\u00edme bolestn\u00fd lek\u00e1rsky z\u00e1sah. D\u00f4vodom na\u0161ej vo\u013eby je o\u010dak\u00e1vanie e\u0161te v\u00e4\u010d\u0161ej rozko\u0161e. O\u010dak\u00e1vanou rozko\u0161ou je v\u00a0tomto pr\u00edpade dobr\u00fd zdravotn\u00fd stav, ako predpokladan\u00fd v\u00fdsledok bolestiv\u00e9ho lek\u00e1rskeho z\u00e1kroku. Aby sme vedeli, ktor\u00fa rozko\u0161 si m\u00e1me voli\u0165 a\u00a0ktor\u00fa odmietnu\u0165, mus\u00edme pozna\u0165 prirodzenos\u0165 jednotliv\u00fdch \u017eiadost\u00ed, t. j. potrieb. Pod\u013ea Epik\u00fara si treba uvedomi\u0165, \u201e\u017ee zo \u017eiadost\u00ed jedny s\u00fa prirodzen\u00e9, druh\u00e9 m\u00e1rne a z\u00a0prirodzen\u00fdch zase jedny nevyhnutn\u00e9, druh\u00e9 iba prirodzen\u00e9. Z\u00a0nevyhnutn\u00fdch jedny s\u00fa nevyhnutn\u00e9 pre bla\u017eenos\u0165, druh\u00e9 pre uspokojenie tela, in\u00e9 pre \u017eivot s\u00e1m\u201c (D. L. 10, 127,7 \u2013 128,1).<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Epikurejci teda rozde\u013euj\u00fa \u017eiadosti\/potreby do dvoch z\u00e1kladn\u00fdch skup\u00edn \u2013 na \u201eprirodzen\u00e9\u201c (<em>fysikai<\/em>) a\u00a0na \u201em\u00e1rne\u201c (<em>kenai<\/em> \u2013 doslova pr\u00e1zdne, jalov\u00e9). V\u00a0skupine prirodzen\u00fdch \u017eiadost\u00ed \u010falej rozli\u0161uj\u00fa \u017eiadosti \u201eprirodzen\u00e9 nevyhnutn\u00e9\u201c a\u00a0\u201eiba prirodzen\u00e9\u201c, ktor\u00e9 si tu pracovne nazveme \u201enie nevyhnutn\u00e9\u201c. S\u00fa to \u017eiadosti, ktor\u00fdch uspokojenie je nutn\u00e9 na to, aby sme pre\u017eili, napr\u00edklad z\u00e1kladn\u00e9 potraviny alebo adekv\u00e1tna miera odpo\u010dinku.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Druh\u00fdm druhom s\u00fa prirodzen\u00e9 nie nevyhnutn\u00e9 \u017eiadosti. Tie s\u00edce nie s\u00fa nutn\u00e9 pre na\u0161e pre\u017eitie, ale s\u00fa v\u00a0s\u00falade s\u00a0na\u0161ou prirodzenos\u0165ou a\u00a0pom\u00e1haj\u00fa udr\u017eiava\u0165 na\u0161e telo, du\u0161u \u010di celkov\u00fd \u017eivotn\u00fd pocit v\u00a0dobrom stave. Jednoduch\u00e9 jedl\u00e1 upev\u0148uj\u00fa \u013eudsk\u00e9 zdravie a\u00a0robia \u010dloveka \u010dul\u00fdm pre ka\u017edodenn\u00e9 \u010dinnosti.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Zd\u00f4raznenie sebesta\u010dnosti v\u0161ak neznamen\u00e1, \u017ee by epikurejci uprednost\u0148ovali v\u00fdhradne len prirodzen\u00e9 nevyhnutn\u00e9 \u017eiadosti, ale to, \u017ee s\u00fa v\u00a0pr\u00edpade n\u00fadze schopn\u00ed uspokoji\u0165 sa s\u00a0m\u00e1lom. Epikurejec je schopn\u00fd u\u017e\u00edva\u0165 si aj primeran\u00fd nadbytok \u2013 teda prirodzen\u00e9 nie nevyhnutn\u00e9 \u017eiadosti. Je v\u0161ak presved\u010den\u00fd, \u017ee \u201enajpr\u00edjemnej\u0161ie u\u017e\u00edvaj\u00fa nadbytok t\u00ed, ktor\u00ed sa najlep\u0161ie vedia bez neho zaob\u00eds\u0165\u201c. Prirodzen\u00e9 \u017eiadosti (\u010di u\u017e nevyhnutn\u00e9 alebo nie nevyhnutn\u00e9) je mo\u017en\u00e9 \u013eahko uspokoji\u0165, \u201ek\u00fdm to, \u010do je m\u00e1rne a\u00a0zbyto\u010dn\u00e9, \u0165a\u017eko sa d\u00e1 zaobstara\u0165\u201c (D. L. 10,130).<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 M\u00e1rne \u017eiadosti s\u00fa n\u00e1kladn\u00e9. \u010c\u00edm n\u00e1kladnej\u0161ie \u017eiadosti m\u00e1me, t\u00fdm viac prostriedkov potrebujeme na ich zaobstaranie. \u010c\u00edm viac prostriedkov potrebujeme, t\u00fdm viac rastie n\u00e1\u0161 strach z\u00a0ich nedostatku, lebo si u\u017e nedok\u00e1\u017eeme predstavi\u0165 spokojn\u00fd \u017eivot bez n\u00e1kladn\u00fdch \u017eiadost\u00ed. Zl\u00fdm nastaven\u00edm prior\u00edt v\u00a0n\u00e1s vznikaj\u00fa klamn\u00e9 domnienky, \u201ektor\u00e9 nap\u013a\u0148aj\u00fa du\u0161e najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161\u00edm zm\u00e4tkom\u201c (D. L. 10, 132) a\u00a0ved\u00fa k\u00a0strasti (utrpeniu), ktor\u00e1 je hlavnou prek\u00e1\u017ekou bla\u017een\u00e9ho \u017eivota. Ak si naopak zvykneme radova\u0165 sa z\u00a0uspokojovania prirodzen\u00fdch \u017eiadost\u00ed, budeme pod\u013ea epikurejcov \u017ei\u0165 spokojne a\u00a0bez strachu. Rovnako je to aj s\u00a0opakom rozko\u0161e \u2013 stras\u0165ou. Du\u0161evn\u00e1 stras\u0165 je silnej\u0161ia (hor\u0161ia) ne\u017e telesn\u00e1. Telesn\u00e1 stras\u0165 je pr\u00edtomn\u00e1 len ke\u010f prebieha.
